Temple and trek access: check locally

A current official online trekking-pass rule was not found. Temple entry, start time and any local restrictions can change; verify with local authorities before setting out.

Research checked October 2026. Government pages and on-site directions take precedence; confirm same-day closures and permit slots before travelling.

Season & timing

When to go

Start early in the cool season, ideally October–February, and allow time for a slow descent.

  • Steep rock-and-step ascent

Before you leave

What to carry

  • At least 1.5 litres of water per person

  • Small zipped bag; keep food out of sight of monkeys

Stay safe and leave no trace

A few things to know

  • Avoid the climb in rain or on wet rock.
